Our founder, Matthew Akiba, participated in the 2025 SEFA Annual Symposium at the FIU College of Law where he was a panelist discussing the latest developments in art law.

During the panel, hosted by the FIU College of Law’s Sports, Entertainment, Fashion, and Art Law Organization, Matt addressed the latest trends and predictions surrounding the ever-developing area of art law, and how he leveraged his past experience as an auction house cataloguer to understand the art market and the various aspects of the law that concern the art business. Matt also discussed recent South Florida cases involving art fraud, the relevant Florida statutes that apply to warranties made by an art dealer as to the authentication of a work of art, and the effects of the recent tariffs on the overall art market.
