Matt Akiba Moderates Panel At Inaugural IP X Influence Conference At FIU Law!
Matt Akiba was invited back to his alma mater, the FIU College of Law, as a moderator at the Inaugural IP X Influence Conference!

The IP x Influence brought together local and national legal practitioners, academics, students, and industry professionals to explore the evolving legal issues at the intersection of intellectual property, social media, influencer marketing, and the creator economy.
The conference featured panel discussions on topics including:
• Creator and brand agreements
• Intellectual property enforcement in digital spaces and the role of platform policies
• Ethics in advertising in an increasingly digital-first world
• Emerging trends impacting the creator economy, including the growing involvement of labor and employment, wealth management, and tax professionals.

Matt’s co-panelists made his job as a moderator easy. Shea Curtin, Vice President of Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley, provide valuable financial planning issues for content creators to consider. Professor Kerri Stone, discussed the employment issues that can arise as a content creator goes and hires staff. Matt actually took Professor Stone’s employment law class while he was a student at FIU Law! And Jeffrey Bernstein, Director of Cybersecurity and Data Privacy at Kaufman Rossin, provided his insights on the cyber security threats and privacy issues growing content creators face.
